          In December 2009, I founded MAV Design Concepts. After working in an office, sitting in front of a computer for over 17 years I decided I want to start a business that required hands on skilled work. Art that only I can do, be extraordinary, be exclusive. With unrelenting ambitious determination, this past one and a  half year, I am finally here.

          Over the past few months I have been machine knitting my line of Spring and Summer 2013 cotton clothing. The yarn is California Pima Cotton, the long staple fiber mostly used for men's shirting and fine linen, and organic brown cotton from Sally Fox's farm in Arizona.

My cotton collection includes machine knitted tops, dresses, shrugs and mufflers for men and women. These luxuriously ultra soft cotton knitted garments are made with yarn exclusively spun for my specifications. After hand dyeing the yarn myself, I design and knit with various tuck stitch patterns. Each piece is unique in color, pattern, size and shape. Some tops are reversible, with identical knit patterns on the front and back. The sizes vary from adult small, medium to large. The mufflers are a full rib pattern for a corporate sophisticated look for both men and women. Necklaces are color coordinated to match the apparel. The glass pendants are hand picked to coordinate with the knitwear. I proudly own this US grown Cotton, Made in USA, collection and wish that people will wear and value their purchase. All cotton garments are certified by Cotton, Incorporated and bear the 'seal of cotton'.

In addition, I have invented the most amazing scarf cum beanie ensamble. My '11 in 1 Scarfeanie' is an invention that has gone through 7 trial and error improvements until perfection. This head knit item can be worn in more than 11 ways, namely, a neck scarf with a soft yarn button, head scarf, a cowl, tobaggan, short beret, long beret, flopped beret, boy's cap, flopped cap, head band, hand warmer, keep your pets warm and hang it so you won't lose it. The crown and band beanie is another item, specifically to stay on the head while you biked, went snow skiing or just run around the block in the cold winter days. It is very popular with college and high school young men as a trendy cool looking knit cap. It fits perfectly around the crown and the band has a double layer for warmth, comfort and snug fit.  I made a few purple and gold ones for my son to wear at ECU but he is using them to store his motorcycle tools instead. Boys will be boys!! Popular colors for boys are blues, browns, burgundy (dark reds) and greens.  I don't use black because it's very difficult to see and black knit caps are available every where. $30.00 each,  not much yarn used but labor is intensive.
